Air raid shelters are 'under construction in the Karlov,l- Strahovsky Stadion and
Vysehrad areas of Prague. The following details. are available:
a, The Strahovsky Stadion shelter is being carved out in sandstone. It would
probable hot be.; very effective-in ? case ~of a severe raid.
b, The Vy"hrad shelter is located near the Vltava River. It is cut in solid
granite. In case of war, this shelter will probably be utilized by the
Ministry of Defense as a cc*nrnand post for a section of the anti-aircraft
defenses of the Prague area. The shelter, which is air-conditioned and
possesses its own power supply, will serve as a collecting center for infor-_
mation received from some twenty ground observer posts surrounding Prague.
It is not known if the ground observer posts are integrated with the Czech
radar net.
