1. From 29 December 1952 to 14 January 1953, the :''utlitz- Kaserne on Yemelor
Strasse in Rostock was occupied to ca,.city by an estimated 1,200 soldiers
wearing red-bordered black-epaulets including 'some with artillery insignia,
The barracks buildings were ?30 percent and the headquarters building was
about 50 percelrnt lighted at dusk. On 31 December, about 30 soldiers were
seen practicing without weapons,, P -n officer and 60 soldiers practiced on
six :57--mm AT guns. Between 4 axed 5 p.m. on .7 January, about 500 soldiers
wearing red-bordered black epaulets were seen drilling. One 100-yam AT

On 29 Decen'ber? about 100 unarmed soldiers organized into groups
received basic training in the Putlitz Kaserne.. About 130 soldiers
wearing red-bordered black epaule c,s and carrying carbines and submachine
guns were observed leaving the installation toward the Ronnbahn (race
track) At 11:30 abr:, on 23 Deccirber, about 160 soldiers received
training on eight 10O-ran AT gins and about 90 soldiers on seven 57..
AT guns. On 5 January, about 70 soldiers received training on nine
57- rare AT guns and about 140 soldiers on six 100-M. AT s , Four
57-min AT auns were d at a garage. Motor vehicles
ware seen driving to the installation,.
5. On 1.0 and 11 January, the Putlitz Kaserne was occupied to capacity by
soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets including some with AT
artillery insignia on the upper left sleeve. About 2 p.m, on 11 January,.

and carrying field packs, blankets, entrenching tools and sacks and,

equipment, the soldiers ran to the garages upon the corsmaand of an
officer who tined them with a watch. The soldiers hauled 12 trucks and
25X1 1.2 AT guns from a shed which sheltered about 20 trucks and about 20 AT
guns. The first of the trucks left the installation at 3:40-.p?m.., towing
