The Bataksl have revived the Binta `Timur, (Star cif the Orient) a daily newspaper
pubYished before-the war by Para a Harahap.' The N.V. Per'tjetakan';dknelPenerbitbitan
Bintang Timur (Star of the Orient Printing and Publishing Company), a limited
liability company with an investment of R. 500,000, has been established to
handle the paper. It will follow a policy of Indonesian nationalism. Officers
are:

An Indonesian radioi. broadcast announced that the Bintang Timur Printing and
Publishing Company would begin publishing an illustrated weekly called Lukisan
Dunia in February under the editorship of Andjar Asmara, and that soon would also
publish a daily called the Bintang Timui.

1. The Bataks are one of the few groups in Central Sumatra who were never
Converted to Islam.
Hutagalung was elected chairman of the Press Association of Indonesia on
24 August 1951. At that time he was connected with Merdeka and Berita
Indonesia,
Lubin is also head of ANTARA, and editor of the Indonesia Raya.
