THE APPRAISAL OP CONTENT IS TENTATIVE.
1. The Sochi State Steamship Company (Sochinskoye aosudarstvennoye Aarokhodstvo)
was a steamship company subordinate to the Ministry of We Merchant Fleet (1W)
through the Chief Directorate of the Southern Sleet. Administration of this
company was to ated in Sochi in Staryy aorod (exact location unknown). The
company was organized is 1939 when the Black Sea State Steamship company was,
divided into three independent steamship companies: the Black Sea, Asov, and
Sochi.
2r .The Sochi State steamship Company maintained communication lines between the,
following Black Sea ports: Sochi, Adler, Gagry, Gndanti, Sukhumi, Ochemohiri,
Poti, Batumi,, Tuapse, Gelendihik, Novorossiysk, Anispa. The main activity of
this company consisted in passenger transport. Its freight transport was rather
insignificant and did not exceed 500 thousand tons per navigation,; year.
3. Organisation of the co an y i s administration was similar to- that of the Azov
steamship Company but on a smaller scale. Sea-going personnel of 25X1
this company wasabout 500-600 men, shore personnel about 125 man.
4. The fleet of the Sochi Steamship Company consisted of 15 freight-passenger
ships with displacement up to one thousand tons, mainly diisel. In addition,
there were five or,six launches.
