1. Laying of tracks on various stretches of railroads has had to be suspended
because of a great shortage of rails. Three experts, Engineer Seppi, Engineer
Carata and Daniel Fleck went to Vienna, Austria, on 25 October 1952 in an
attempt to obtain rails from Donawitz, Austria.
2. Serious conditions exist in the supplies of electrolytic coppery I.7,Porcent
pyrite, metallurgic lead, nickel, tin, zinc, cobalt, molybdenum and vanadium.
Stocks on hand are down to where they can be measured in days' supply.
Attempts are being made to obtain them from Austria.
Sovrompetrol has put a buns process into operation at Margina, on a chemical
basis of calcium carbide, potatoes, wood alcohol and lampblack. The estimated
output is about 300 tons monthly. The plant will be enlarged if it pays.
A carload of ball bearings for tanks arrived at Resita on 27 October 1952.
