The dates of the ukases are given when available. Numbers in parentheses refer to appended sources.) By a 7 July ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Armenian SSR, Idzhevan Village, Idzhevanskiy Rayon, was designated a city-type settlement. (1) By 26 June 1956 ukases of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Karelo-Finnish SSR, the populated points Ambarnyy and Kesten'ga of Loukhskiy Rayon, were designated workers' settlements. (2) By a 31 July 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Kazakh SSR, administrative center of Georgiyevskiy Rayo the n, Yuzhno_Kazakhstanskaya Oblast, was transferred from Georgiyevka village to the city of Lenger. By a 31 July 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Kazakh SSR, Arys' Workers' Settlement, Arysskiy Rayon, Yuzhno-Kazakhstanskaya Oblast, was desig- nated a city of rayon subordination. By 31 July 1956 ukases of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Kazakh SSR, the Populated point Nikol'skiy, Czhezkazganskiy City Soviet, Karagandinskaya Oblast, and the populated point at Darya railway station now referred to as Dar'inekiy in Zhana-Arkinskiy Rayon, were designated workers' settlements. (3) By a 25 July 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Kirgiz SSR, Chon- Alayskiy Rayon, Oshskaya Oblast, was re-established. (1) By decree of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Moldavian SSR, the populated point which was recently established at the Third Moldavian Saccharine Factory, Floreshtekiy Rayon, was designated a city-type settlement called Leninskiy. (4) Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/15: CIA-RDP80-00809A000700260084-9 Sanitized Copy Approved for Release By a 17 May 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, the follow- ing rayons in Tatarskaya ASSR were abolished: Podberezinskiy Rayon, its terri- tory transferred to Kaybitskiy Rayon; and Churilinskiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Arskiy and Sabinskiy rayons. In addition, Shemordan Workers' Settlement was transferred to Sabinskiy Rayon. By 24 May 1956 ukases of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, the fol- lowing populated points were designated workers' scttl_.:ents: the populated Point Vydrino in the suburban zone of Babushkin, a city in Buryat-Mongol'skaya ASSR; and the populated points Novo-Raychikhinsk and Progress in the suburban zone of Raychikhinsk, a city in Amurskaya Oblast. In additions, Allochkin Ot- rog became a workers' settlement called Shirokiy. By 24 May 1956 ukases of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, the following rayons were abolished: in Molotovskaya Oblast, Grigor'yevskiy Rayon, its terri- tory transferred to Nytvenskiy Rayon; in Kabardinskaya ASSR, Nal'chikskiy Rayon, zone of lchik, its territory transferred to Chegemskiy and Urvanskiy rayons and the suburban Rayon, itslterritoryptransferred to ArgayashskiyeRayon, and finally, Bur nskiyiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Bagaryakskiy and Kunashakskiy rayons; In Sverdlovskaya Oblast, Lenskiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Turin- skiy Rayon, Nizhne-Saldinskiy Rayon, its territory transferred to the administra- tive subordination of Verkhne-Saldinskiy City Soviet of Workers' Deputies, Aramil'- Bo1'shoy Istok, Verkhneye Dubrovo,randtShabrovskiy workers'ett ementsower(Atrans', ferred to Sysertskiy Rayon, while Kol'tsovo Workers' Settlement was transferred to the administrative subordination of Sverdlovskiy City Soviet of Workers' Deputies), Rudnyy Urban Rayon, Nizhniy Tagil, its territory transferred to Leninskiy Rayon, Sovetskiy Urban Rayon, Kamensk-Uralnskiy, its territory transferred to Sinarskiy Rayon, and Stalinskiy Urban Rayon, Sverdlovsk, its territory transferred to Kirov- skiy, Kaganovichskiy, and Molotovskiy rayons; In Kurskaya Oblast, Krivtsovskiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Pristen- skiy and Oboyanskiy rayons, Oktyabr'skiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Kas- torenskiy and Sovetskiy rayons, and finally, Yasenovskiy Rayon, its territory transferred to Gorshechenskiy Rayon. By a 2 June 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, Bryansk and Bezhitsa, cities in Bryanskaya Oblast, were joined to form a single' city, Bryansk. A Bezhitskiy Rayon was established in the city of Bryansk. By 14 June 1956 ukases of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, the following ttlement~ Tuleskadesi ya Oblast; Aorkers baza'Settlement,settlements: Tashtypskiy kRayon, Khakass ay Autonoy Rayon, Oblast, Krasnoyarskiy Kray; the populated point Zaterechnyy, ksa emer vskaya Oblast its territory transferred to the administrative subordination Kof Sta1 nskiyCity, Soviet of Workers' Deputies; the settlement now referred to as Verkhne-Dneprov- skiy at the construction site of Dorogobuzhskaya State Regional Electric Power Station, Dorogobuzhskiy Rayon, Smolenskaya Oblast; and the populated point Asna- kayevo, Asnakayevskiy Rayon, Tatarskaya ASSR. By a 14 June 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, the Rostov- Na-Donu city limits were extended to include Nizhne-Gnilovskoy Workers' Settle- ment. By a 28 June 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, Achi-Su Workers' Settlement, Karabudakhkentskiy Rayon, Dagestanskaya ASSN, was transferred to the administrative subordination of Izberbashskiy City Soviet of Workers' Dep- uties. By a 28 June 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet RSFSR, Podporozh'ye Workers' Settlement, Podporozhskiy Rayon, Leningradskaya Oblast, was designated a city of rayon subordination. (8) By a 26 July 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Turkmen SSR, Cheleken, a city-type settlement in Ashkhabadskaya*Oblast, was designated a city of oblast subordination. The city limits were extended to include within them the settlements imeni 1 Maya and imeni Azizbekova. Chelekenskiy Rayon was abolished, and its terri- tory transferred to the administrative subordination of Chelekenskiy City Soviet of Workers' Deputies. In addition, Karagel' Settlement was designated a city-type set- tlement. The populated points Aladzha and the one at the oil field were transferred to the administrative subordination of Karagel' Settlement Soviet of Workers' Dep- uties. Karagel' and Dagadzhik settlement soviets were in turn subordinated to Chel- ekenskiy City Soviet of Workers' Deputies. Ogurchinskiy Island was transferred to the administrative subordination of Krasnovodskiy Rayon Soviet of Workers' Deputies. (9) By a 17 July 1956 ukase of the Presidium, Supreme Soviet Ukrainian SSR, Lenin- skiy and Stalinskiy urban rayons were merged into a single rayon, Leninskiy, in the city of L'vov, L'vovakaya Oblast.
