Yesterday during the day, cloudy with clearing weather prevailed in the
Belorussian SSR. Rains were recorded in,some localities in the northern portion
of the republic. Temperatures at 1500 hou-s were 13 decrees above zero in
Drissa, 14 in Vitebsk, 16 in Grodno, 21 in Tlinsk, 22 in Gomel"
anu Bobruysk, 23 in Mozyr, 24 in Baranovichi, and 26 in Brest.(1)
This morning, overcast weather with rain was recorded in Yaroslavskaya,
Kostromskaya, Vologodskaya, and Gor'kovskaya oblasts. Showers fell in Len-
ingradskaya, Novgorodskaya, Velikolukskaya, and Arkhangel'skaya oblasts.
Slightly cloudy, dry weather prevailed in the rest of the European USSR.
Temperatures at 0700 hours this morning were 7 degrees above zero in
Murmansk, 8 in Vologda and Bar pan-Mar, 10 in Petrozavodsk, Smolensk, and
Arkhangel'sk, 11 in Leningrad, 12 in Gor'kiy, 13 in Kuybyshev and Kostroma,
16 in Kiev, 17 in Kursk and Odessa, 18 in Voronezh, 20 in Stalingrad, 23 in
Sochi and Astrakhan', and 24 in Rostov.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 12 degrees above zero; it was
15 degrees at noon today.(2)
Yesterday during the day, variable cloudiness prevailed in the Belorussian
SSR. Showers fell in some localities. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 12 de-
grees above zero in Bychikha, 14 in Vitebsk and Novogrudok,15 in Minsk and
Mogilev, 16 in Orsha, 17 Bobruysk, Gomel', and Baranovichi, 18 in Pinsk and

Yesterday during the day, warm, slightly cloudy weather prevailed in the
Belorussian SSR. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 22 degrees above zero in
Vitebsk, 24 in Polotsk, Minsk, Slutsk, and Lel'chitsy, 25 in Pinsk and Barano-
vichi, and 27 in Brest and Grodno.(l)
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 11 degrees above zero; it
was 21 degrees at noon today.(2)
5 September
Yesterday during the day, variable cloudiness prevailed in the Belorussian
SSR. Showers with thunderstorms were recorded in some localities. Temperatures
at 1500 hours were 14 degrees above zero in Polotsk, 16 in Grodno, 18 in Minsk,
19 in Brest and Pinsk, 20 in Mogilev and Gomel', 21 in Vasilevichi, and 22 in
Mozyr.(1)
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 10 degrees above zero; it
was 15 degrees at noon today.(2)
6 September
Yesterday during the day, mostly cloudy weather prevailed in the Belorussian
SSR. Rains fell everywhere except in the extreme southern portion of the republic.

12 in Grodno, 13 in Minsk, Vitebsk, and Mogilev, 15 in Baranovichi, 16 in Zhit-

Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 5 degrees above zero; it was

Yesterday during the day, slightly cloudy, cool weather prevailed in the
Belorussian SSR. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 10 degrees above zero in
Vitebsk, Mogilev, Bobruysk, and Orsha, 11 in Minsk and Gomel', 12 in Baranovichi
and Pinsk, 13 in Grodno, and 14 in Brest.(1)
This morning, cold weather prevailed in most of the European USSR. Rains
fell in the Karelo-Finnish SSR, Leningradskaya, Novgorodskaya, Pskovskaya, Kalin-
inskaya, Velikolukskaya, and Smolenskaya oblasts, and the western portion of the
central region. Snow fell in some localities in Komi ASSR.

portion of the republic. Strong winds were recorded almost everywhere. Tempera-
tures at 1500 hours were 12 degrees above zero in Bychikha and Mogilev 13 in
Polotsk, 14 in Minsk, 16 in Bobruysk, 17 in Grodno, and 21 in Brest.(l5

On 8 September, cloudy with clearing weather accompanied by strong westerly
winds prevailed in the Estonian SSR. Rains fell everywhere. Daytime temperatures
ranged between 13 and 16 degrees above zero.(3)

western and central regions. of the European USSR and in Komi ASSR. Showers were
recorded in some localities in the southern portion of the Baltic republics, the
Belorussian SSR, the Kola Peninsula, and Dagestanskaya ASSR. Slightly cloudy
weather without precipitation prevailed in most of the Ukrainian SSR, the Crimea,
and the Middle and Lower Volga Regions.

russian SSR. Rains were recorded only in some localities. in the southeastern
Portion of the republic. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 8 degrees above zero
in Gomel', 9 in Vitebsk, Orsha, and Mogilev, 10 in Minsk? Brest, and Polotsk,

During the night of 17 September, ground frosts of 1-3 degrees below zero

southeastern regions. Rains were recorded in the northwestern regions, the
northern portion of the central region, the Middle Volga Region, the Belo-
russian SSR, and Udmurtskaya and Bashkirskaya ASSRs. Showers and scattered
thunderstorms were recorded in Smolensl?.aya and Kaluzhskaya oblasts and the
western portion of Moskovskaya Oblast. Snow fell in some localities in the

above zero in Arkhangelsk, 5 in Leningrad and Molotov, 7 in Orla, 9 in Kalin-
ingrad and Kharkov, 11 in Roston and Kuybyshar, 12 in Ufa, 13 in Yalta, 14 in
Riga, Kiev, Gor'kiy, and Lvov, 15 in Minsk and Odessa, and 17 in Sochi.
