The Kiev Plant imeni Lepse has set up a constant flow line for producing
cylinder sleeves for KD-35 tmetors. This production line Brill make it possible
to put cut an additional 100,000 sleev^s in 1953.
The Moscrw Plant imeni Budennyy, hfinistry of Machine Building USSR, has
reduced production costs 18 percent thus far in 195] as compared with 1952.
Tsunikov, plant director, reports that the enterprise has turned out E00 above-
p].an hydraulic mechanisms for tractors, and many tractor and motor vehicle spare
parts above the plan. Plant workers have promised to save 150,000 rubles by
cutting prcduction costs, and to produce more than a million rubles' worth of
spare parts and hydraulic mechanisms above the plan during the remainder of 1953?

The Leningrad Kirov rlant produces a million rubles' north of tractor
spare parts monthly. The shop which produces spare parts for S-~0 tractors is
doing especially good worY..
The Voroshilovgrad Plant imeni 20-letiye Olctyabrya, which makes spare
parts for tractors, has pledged to increase its output in response to the decree
of the Plenum of the Central Committee, CPSU.

The Baranovichi ldotor Repair Plant Hakes 160 designations of pnrts for
en.~;;nes :nd tractors. The plant also series produces pulley equipment needed
to adapt t're KD-35 tractor fo. t:~~reshin~.
The Tallin Repn'r Plant supplies repair equipment and ermine spare parts
to 1dTS and also overhauls tractor engines.
Tire plant plans to supply spare parts for machines used by land improvement
stations. To make these spare parts, the plant would have to set up a steel
foundry, but the expense could be worthwhile, for the plant wculd be able to supply
spare parts to land improvement stations, not only in the Estonian SSR,but also in
all the northwest oblasts of the Soviet Union.
The plant is no;r or~anizin~ the output of malleable iron fittings for cater- 7
supply lines. These fittings are needed to mechanize ?.cater supply on animal
husbandry farms of the Estonian SSP,.
The plant is e:cpanding the output of snare parts, and will produce 20 type
designations of tractor parts in the future. The plnnt will also restore corn
out tractor parts so that they can b= used again.
T}Ie plant is equipping a shop to repair machine tools for bPPS.
It formerly took all experienced lnthe operator and a fitter 20 hours and 30
minutes to bore t1~e main bearings of ar S-?0 tractor. Plo?,r, using; the URB uni-
versal borinP, machine produced by the Tallin Repair Plrrnt, an inexperienced
ororker can do the ,job in h~hours and oi,tain pcreater accuracy.
The plant supplies IDiB Loring machines to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and
some of t're northwest oblasts of ti;e USSR. It has fulfilled i.ts 1953 plan for
URB machines ahead f schedule, and will produce an additional 150 machines in
1953. The plant has pledged to produce twice as many U;Ii machines in 1954 as it
did in 1953.
Tlie Tallin base of Glavmetallosbyt (Main Administration for Sale of Metals)
is not supplying the plant with the proper shapes of metal.
The Estonian SSR office of Sel'khozsnab (ldain Administration of tfaterial
and Technical Supply), lQinistry of Agriculture and Procurement, should see that
the plant receives nn adequate supply of high-quality cutting tools.

The Estonian SSR office of Glavtraktorosbyt (Main Administration of Tractor
Sales) should assure the plant a regular supply of needed tractor parts.
~-35 tractor engines repaired by the plant are supposed to work 780
hectares of land before they need repairs again, but some engines repaired by

The Tallin Repair Plant, hiinistry of AEriculture and Procurement Estonian
SSR, has tripled its output of engine spare parts. The plant has already de-
livered 316 universal boring machines to MTS workshops of tie Baltic republics,
to the Belorussian SSR~and to Leningradskaya and Arkhan~el'skaya oblasts. The
plant was assigned to produce 300 universal boring machines in 1953?
In 1954, the plant will produce spare parts for tractors and land improve-
ment machines.
REPAIRS TRACTOR DIESELS -- ldoscma, Vechernyaya tdoskva, 18 Sep 53
The Moscow Rostokino Motor Repair Plant hss repaired 430 tractor and combine
diesels in 1953. The plant is to repair an additional 600 engines by the beginning
of the 1954 spring season.
