In 1953, the Chelyabinsk '?ractor Plar`, has shipped dozens of tractors, diesel
engines, and spare parts to the Kuybyshev $Ydroelectric Power Station protect.

? New technological methods have cut production costs and improved quality in
the following shops of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant: diesel engine shop No 1,
chassis shop, and forge shop No 2.
PRODUCE BELARUS' TRACTOR -- Leningradskaya Pravda, 29 Aug 53
Today, the Minsk Tractor Plant completed the first 37-horsepower engine for
the Belarus' tractors, which the plant is preparing to series produce.

The Minsk Tractor Plant started shipping Belarus' tractors to consumers on
2 November 1953? The first consignments of tractors went to the RSFSR and the
Ukrainian SSR, and also to agricultural scientific research institutes, where farm
machines will be developed for use with the Belarus'. MPS of the Ukrainian, Belo-
russian, and other SSRs will receive hundreds of these tractors by the end of 1953.
ORGANIZE LARGE-SCALE PRODUCTION OF KDP-35 TRACTORS -- Moscow, Izvestiya, 19 Sep 53
The Lipetsk Tractor Plant has been assigned to produce KDP-35 plowing tractors
on a large scale. The plant should turn out the first group of machines, consist-
ing of hundreds of .tractors, this month. After that, the rate of output will grow,
and in 195, the plant will turn out thousands of plowing tractors.

Formerly, the Flant received most of its steel castings from nearby plants.
Nox the steel foundry is being equipped to turn out all the steel parts for the
KDP-35 tractor.
In the chassis shop, the conveyer xas rebuilt in record time.
Assembly of tractors is nox included in the plant 's?daily schedule, and more
and more plowing tractors x111 come off the assembly line..
PLANT TO SERIES PRODUCE KHTZ-7 TRACTOR -- Moscow, Pravda, 16 Sep 53
In the next few months, the Kharkov Tractor Plant imeni Ordzhonikidze is to
put a new building into operation and organize the series production of KhTZ-7
garden and orchard tractors in the new building.
RESTORE WORN-OUP TOOLS -- Moscow, Trud, 10 Sep 53
In 1952, plants of the motor vehicle and tractor industry restored cutting
tools and measuring instruments valued at 39 million rubles. However, agricul-
tural machine building, machine tool building, transport and heavy machine build-
ing, shipbuilding; and electrical industry @nterprises arc neglecting this im-
portant means of reducing requirements for new tools and saving money, Such plants
as the Kharkov Machine Tool Building plant, the Kiev Automatic Machine Tool Plant,
and the Moscow Krasnyy Proletariy Machine Tool Building Plant have ~nbt organized
multiple restoration of cutting tools, ans. hundreds of thousands of worn-out drills,
cutters, and milling cutter, are piling up in their storerooms. Almost a million
old cutters and millers have piled up at the Kiev Krasnyy Ekskavator Plant, and an
even greater amount has accumulated at the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive. Plant. No
records are kept of these worn-out tools, and as a result, .speculators' in Kiev,
Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Minsk, and Voroshilovgrad do a thriving 'business in
drills, taps, and cutters.
Gosplan USSR should revise steel consumption norms for all ministries, taking
into account xidespread multiple restoration of cutting tools.
The ministries concerned should set up definite systems for restoring xorn-
out tools and make these systems compulsory for all plants under their control. -
