Yesterday during the day, it became cloudy in the Belorussian SSR. Tem-
peratures at 1500 hours were 17 degrees above zero in Minsk, 18 in Bobruysk,
Gomel', Mogilev, and Lida, 19 in Grodno and Vitebsk, and 20 in Brest.(l)
This morning, cold weather prevailed in the northern half of the Furopean
USSR. It became cooler in the central part o? the European USSR, the Middle
Volga Region, northern Ukraine, and eastern Belorussia. It was warm in the
southern Ukraine, western Belorussia, the Crimea, and the Caucasus, The weather
was cloudy and rainy in the eastern part of the European?USSR..
Temperatures at 0700 hours this mornir were 8 degrees below zero in
Nar'yan-Mar, one below in Syktyvkar, zero in Kirov, one degree above zero in
Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, 2 above in Leningrad, Vologda, and Molotov, 3 in
Gor'kiy and Voronezh, 4 in Kalinin, Smolensk, Kursk, and Tula, 5 in Kharkov,
6 in Kazsn' and Saratov, 7 in Riga. Minsk, and Kuybyshev, 8 In Tallin, 9 in
L'vov, Kishinev, Stalingrad, and Chkalov, 10 in Kiev, 12 In Rostov, Odessa, and
Yalta, and 13 in Sochi.
Last night's lowest temperature ir, Moscow was 3 degrees above zero; it was

Yesterday during the day, slightly cloudy weather prevailed in the Belo-
russian SSR. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 19 degrees above zero in Minsk,
20 in Bobruysk, 21 in Pinsk, and 23 in Brest.(1)
This morning, showers were recorded at some places in Belorussia and the
northern portion of the European USSR, Snow fell in the sourthern part of the
Karel o-P?=i.sh SSR and the Komi ASSR. Rain and snow were also observed in the
central and southern Urals and adjoining areas of the luropean LSSR. Rains fell
at some places in the Tranecaucasus. It was slightly cloudy but no precipita-
tor was recorded in the rest of the European TSSR.
Temteratures at 0700 hours this morning were 10 degrees below zero in
Neryar-Mar, 2 below in Murmansk, zero in Arkhangel sk and Syktyvkar, one degree
above zero -n Molotov, 2 above in Kuybyshev, 3 in Kazan', 4 in Gor'kiy, 5 in
Riga, Leningrad, and Vologda, 8 in Astrakhan , Rostov, Kursk, and Odessa, 9 in
Thar'kov and Kiev, 10 in Minsk, and 17 in Sochi

This morning, cold weather prevailed in the northeiu,northwestern, and
central portions of the European USSR. Snowfall was recorded in the Baltic
republics and Novgorodskaya Oblast. Overcast skies with light rains were ob-
served in the eastern Ukraine. It became much cooler in most of the Ukraine,
in Moldavia,. and in the Northern Caucasus. It was warm in the eastern and
southeastern portions of the European USSR.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was one degree above zero; it
was 9 degrees at moon today.(2)
Yesterday's temperatures in Leningrad were 3 degrees below zero during
the morning and 2 above during the day.(4)

Yesterday during the day, hot, slightly cloudy weather was observed in the
Belorussian SSR. Temperatures at 1500 hours were 22 degrees above zero in
Vitebsk, 24 in Minsk and Polotsk, 24 in Gomel', 25 in Lida, Baranovichi, and
Slutsk, 26 in Grodno and Volkovysk, and 27 in Brest and Pinsk (1)
This morning, clear weather prevailed in most of the European USSR. Showers
and thunderstorms occurred at some places in Astrakhanskaya and Gur'yevskaya
oblasts and in the western Ukraine.
It became considerably cooler today in the Tatarskaya ASSR, Kirovskaya and
Molotovskaya oblasts, and the Bashkirskaya ASSR; in the Bashkirskaya ASSR, the
sky was overcast, rain fell, and strong winds blew.. In the extreme northeast
(lower reaches of the Pechora River), light frosts were observed.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 10 degrees above zero; it
was 20 degrees at noon today.(2)
On 20 May, warm, dry, slightly cloudy weather with light winds was observe,

Yesterday during the day, hot, slightly cloudy weather continued in the
Belorussian SSR. Temperatures Et 1,00 hours were 24 degrees above zo-,o in Minsk,
Mogilev, Gomel', and Vitebsk, 25 in Polotsk, 27 in Grodno and Pinsk, 28 in
Brest, and 29 in Vysokiy,(1)
This morning, cool weather with light rains in some places prevailed in
the central and southern Urals and in the extreme northeastern European USSR.
The weather was coldest in Molotovskava, Sverdlo"skaya, and Murmanskaya oblasts.
During the morning, rains also fell in the northern European 16SR. In the rest
of the European USSR, the 'weather was warm and slightly cloudy.
Temperatures nt 0700 hours this morning were 2 degrees above zero in Sverd-
lovsk, 3 in Murmansk, 5 in Syktyvkar, 6 in Ufa, 8 in Kirov and Kuybyshev, 9 in
Arkhangel'sk, 12 in Gor,kiy and Saratov, 1 in Leningrad, 14 in Smolensk, 15
in Petrozavodsk, Riga, and Voronezh, 16 in Kiev, Kbar'kuv, Kherson, Rostov-on-
Don, and Sochi, 17 in Kaunas, 18 in Yalta, and 19 in Krasnodar.

Yesterday during the day, hot dry weather continued in the Belorussian SSR.
Temperatures at 1500 hours were 27 degrees above zero in Polotsk, 28 in Minsk,
Mogilev, Bobruysk, Brest, and Gomel', 29 in Grodno and L.el'chitsy, and 30 in
Vasilevichi.(1)

This morning, clear, warm weather prevailed in the Ukraine, the Lower Volga
Region, and the northern Caucasus.
Last night's lowest temperature in Moscow was 14 degrees above zero; it
was 16 degrees at noon today.(2)
