The Yerevan Avtodetal' Plant will double its gross production during the
new Five-Year Plan.
By increasing the hardness of spline shafts for ZIS-5 trucks, the life span
of the shaft uas tripled. In a 2-year period, the plant cut the labor tisre in-
volved in producing s spline shaft from 3.84 to 2.U5 hours.
In 1952, the plant will double its 1g5U >u'oduction of spline shafts. In
1953, it will produce two and one half times se much as in 1950.
The plant increased the cutting speed of spline-grinding machines from
26 meters to between 4~ and 50 meters par second and thus doubled their output.
Many of the plant's machines are not adapted to high-speed cutting and retard the
eapaneion cf this method. .
TRAKTORODETAL' PLANT FULFILLS PLAN -- Stalinabad, Kommuniet Tadzhikistana,

The Stalinabad Traktorodetal' Plant has fulfilled its September 195 plan
for gross production by 119.5 percent, and Por commodity output by 124.3 percent.
The pleat nov remelts iron shavings in a cupola furaecr, and has installed n new
electric-gas case-hardening furnace.
PLANT FILLS QUOTA EARLY -- Tashkent, Pravda Voetoka, 23 Oct 52
The Tashkent Avtotx'ektorodetal' Plant fulfilled its 9-month plan ahead of
schedule and had turned out 1,,235,000 rubles worth c+f above-plan output by 1 Oc-
tober. Production costa were reduced 11.1 percent and labor productivity reined
24 percent. One million rubles were accumulated above the plan. The plant ful-
filled the p?.an for automatic Baw sharpeners, used in cotton plants of the Uz-
bek SSR, by 140 percent.
