TRACTORS TO PROJECTS; IMPROVE S-?o -- Moscow, Vechernynya Moskva, 8 Jul 52
In the first 6 months of 1952, the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant sent more than
100 S-80 tractors to the Volga-Dqn Canal and the Stalingrad and Kuybyshev GES
projects. The plant filled the order for tractors for the North Crimean and
South Ukrainian canals ahead of schedule. In addition, the plant shipped 4 mil-
lion rubles' worth of tractor spare parts to the construction projects.

The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant has worked out more than 100 design and tech-
nological measures to lengthen the time between repairs of S-80 tractors. The
tractor's side reduction gear is shot-blast riveted, thus increasing its life
three times. The frame side members and the transmission bearings have been made
stronger.
The Chelyabinsk Institute for the Mechanization and Electrification of Ag-
riculture, which aided the plant in this work, has organized 12 complex brigades
at the plant.
WINS AWARD -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 7 Aug 52
The Kharkov Tractor Plant has been awarded the Transferable Red Banner of
the Ministry of Automobile and Tractor Industry USSR for the second quarter 1952
in an all-union socialist competition.
