NEW MODELS AFFORD BETTER MANEUVERING -- Moscow, Moskovskaya Pravda, 2 Jul 52
Up to now, no cranes with a lifting capacity exceeding 14 tone be" been
used on the new buildings going up in Moscow. Now, two new UBK-5-50 tower
cranes, each of 5 tons lifting capacity, are at work on a 14-story dwelling
structure. The cranes are rigged with 30-mater booms, affording ample hori-
zontal moving of the load; former models have to travel along rails to move
their loads any considerable horizontal distance. The UBK-5-50 cranes can
raise a load to a height of 14 stories.
