EXPECT FALL OF RUMANIAN PATRIARCH
It is reported in Bucharest that Patriarch Justinian, head of the Rumanian
Orthodox Church and hitherto an ardent supporter of the present regime, has
fallen out of favor with the regime. His liquidation is expected from hour to
hour.
Teohari Gheorghescu, the Minister of the Interior, in charge of all reli-
gious affairs of the country, has sentenced and liquidated a large number of
Rumanian Orthodox clergymen.
The present move of the ministry is significant in view of the fact that
Patriarch Justinian has been one of the strongest followers of the Soviet
regime, having made several trips to Moscow, where be conferred with the bends
of the Ruasian Orthodox Church.
