Enterprises of the Ministry of Local Industry, Moldavian SSR, have put a
new-type corn planter in production. City and rayon industrial corbines of

7,000 corn planters to the kolkhozes up to 1 February 1951. Beginning 1 Feb-
ruary, they started making a new, simplified corn planter. Joining the cam-
paign in honor of the elections to the Supreme Soviet, Moldavian SSR, workers
of the Kishinev Industrial Combi4have promised to built 11,000 new-type
corn planters ahead of schedule.;-'r.The foundries have turned out, ahead, of
time, tens of thousands of metal regulators, enough for all the shops in the
republic which make corn planters.

TO PRODUCE ENSIIAGE COMBINE -- Moscow, Moskovskaya Pravda, 28 Feb 51
Last year, final tests of the SK-1.2 ensilage harvesting combine, designed
by the All-Union Institute of Agricultural-Machine Building, were conducted on
kolkhozes in Rostov and Moscow oblasts. Series production of the combine will
be organized this year. The combine, when attached to a KD-35 tractor, mowed
and chopped as much as 75 tons of bulk ensilage per working day in tests con-
ducted in Moscow Oblast. The ensilage harvesting combine lowers labor consump-
tion 78 percent, reduces expenses 40 percent, and increases the productivity
of workers 4.5 times in piling ensilage in trenches as compared to the RKS-12
tractor ensilage cutter.
NEW THRESHER CUTS FODDER -- Moscow, Mashino-Traktornaya Stantsiya, No 12, Dec 50
The series production of the MSS-1100 complex straw-cutting (samannaya)
thresher is planned for 1951. This thresher works exactly like the 'riC-iiw
and MSA-1100 grain threshers except that it cuts up the straw into "aaman,"
small pieces of fodder suitable for feeding cattle. -- Engineer I. Ivanchenko,

GOM!EL' PLANT FULFILLS PLAN AHEAD OF TIME -- Minsk, Sovetskaya Belorussiya,

The G el';pocf Plant fulfilled the January plan for gross and commodity
production 3 days ahead of time. The shop which makes the MK-1100 complex
thresher won first place in the plant ce'iipetition by fulfilling the monthly
plan on 20 January.
SIMPLIFY BUILDING OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINES -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latriya, 10 Feb 51
Chief engineer Smirnov and the engineering-technical workers of the Riga
Imanta Agricultural-Machine Building Plant have worked out a simpler, cheaper
Bray to build the Imanta-.42 complex thresher and the Triur ' sorter.
The complex thresher has been considerably improved. The first winnowing
bin has been redesigned, an automatic check to prevent damage to the elevator
has been provided, and the second winnower now shuts off automatically.
CHELYABINSK PLANT BUILDS WINNOWER -- Maahino-Traktornaya Stantsiya, No 10,

The Chelyabinsk Machinery Plant is building stationary and mobile Zernopul't
grain winnowers, which winnow 18-20 tons of grain per hour.
ALTAY PLANT STARTS PLOW PRODUCTION -- Mashino-Traktornsya Stantsiya, No 10,

The 1ubtsovsk Altaysel'mash (Altay Agricultural Machinery) Plant has
begun the series production of the VP-2 grudding (vy p y) plow,
by the Odessa Plant imeni Oktyabr'akaya Revolyutsiya.
The plant is also preparing for the mass production of D-6-35M tractor
plows, designed by the Odessa plant. The plow penetrates hard soil to a
depth of 27 centimeters.

1950 PRODUCTION GAINS IN UKRiINIAN SSR -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 28 Jan 51
The Statistical Administration Ukrainian SSR announced the following in-
creases in 1950 production as compared to 1949: dump trucks, 170 percent;
tractors, 125 percent; tractor plows, 168 percent; tractor cultivators, 138
percent; tractor shallow plows, 129 percent; tractor seeders, 200 percent;
and grain combines, 150 percent.
CONTINUOUS METHOD BOOSTS OUTPUP OF FARM MACHINES -- Moscow, Znaniye-Sila, No 2,

In 1950, the adoption of continuous assembly lines in agricultural-machine
building made possible the production of 46,000 combines, more than 180,000
tractors (15 horsepower), and more than 1,700,000 trailer attachments,

The machine-tractor park of Soviet agriculture was increased by 82,000
trucks in 1950.
