INTRODUCES X-RAY APPARATUS -- Berlin, Nacbrichten fuer Aussenhandel, 9 Dec 50
The people-owned Dresden Transformer and X -May Works and the Dresden School
of Technology have cooperated in producing an X-ray precision instrument, the
first of its kind to have been made in the German Democratic Republic. After
having been tested in the X-ray Laboratory and Experimental Institute for Nonde-
structive Materials at the Dresden Institute of Technology, the apparatus will
go into mass production.
DEVELOPS X-RAY APPARATUS FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC SCREENING -- Berlin, Nachrichten fuer

An X-ray apparatus for photographic screening has been developed by the
people-owned Transformer and X-ray Plant in Dresden-Uebigau, in collaboration
with the Carl Zeiss Works, Jena. Production has been started on the basis of
this model.
MSIM IEW HEAT THERAPY DEVICE -- Berlin, Nachrichten fuer Aussenhandel, 9 Dec 50
The Doebein Dental Distributing Agency for Sachsen, a cooperative enterprise,
has developed an-.ultrashort-wave apparatus known as Mikrotherm, with a wave length
of 6 to 7 meters. It is shock-resistant, and easily transportable, weighing only
10 kilograms. The apparatus can be carried to any hospital bed, making it un-
necessary for seriously ill petients to be'moved for trleatment. Although its
capacity is only 100 watts, its novel construction makes it highly effective for
therapeutic and dental treatmeLt.

FORM PANEL OF EXPERTS -- Berlin, Nachrichten fuer Aussenhandel, 20 Jan 51
A central panel of experts in the sphere of precision mechanics, optics,
and medical technology was established by the German Office for the Testing
of Materials and Goods, at a conference in Jena. The panel also includes ex-
perts on microscopy, astronomy, and on photography and motion-picture technology.
PRODUCES RADIO EQUIPMENT -- Berlin Nachrichten fuer Aussenhandel, 13 Jan 51
The Sternradio Plant at Rochlitz, an RFT enterprise, has started mass
production of radio equipment, resulting in an 80-percent production increase.
Equipment for printing radio dials has also been installed at the plant.
