4 October 1950? Colder and moist maritime air will enter the country from
the northwest during the day, causing increasing cloudiness; brief showers will
fall in many places before evening. In the morning and especially in the after-
noon, moderate to strong.northweat winds.
5 October 1950. Light fog in the morning along the Black Sea. Scattered
variable cloudiness during the day over most of the country, more pronounced in
the morning in the northeast half of the country and in the afternoon over the
mountainous regions. Maximum temperature, 19-24 degrees Lall degrees in centi-
grad~.
6 October 1950. Light fog in the morning along the Danube and the Black Sea
coast and in basin areas. Predominantly sunny during the day over most of the
country, xith variable cloudiness, more pronounced over the mountains. Low north-
west winds. Maximum temperature, 19-23 degrees; in the southernmost border areas,
near 25.
7 October 1950. Sunny during the day over most of the country, with variable
cloudiness, more pronounced in eastern Bulgaria. Maximum temperature, 20-22 degrees.
Low to moderate winds: northeast in eastern Bulgaria and northwest in western Bul-
garia.
8 October 1950 Light frost in the early morning in the basin areas in south-
west Bulgaria and.the western half of the Danubian tableland. Lighti fog will form
in tlic morning, which will be dispersed by the sun. Sunny during the day, with
high clouds coming from the west., Light winds, becoming moderate during the day,
changing progressively to east winds. .Maximum temperature, 18-20 degrees.
10 October 1950. Light fog in the morning along the Danube and the Hlack Sea
coast and in basin areas. Light frost will form in the higher basin areas. Pre_
dominant?y sunr{y during the day over most of the country with the appearance of
thin, high clouds from the west, which will increase in the afternoon and then de-
crease. Slights .(along the Black $ea, moderate) predominantly northeast winds.

the day, with scattered high clouds locally. Slight winds. Maximum temperature,
20-24 degrees.
12 October 1~. Light fog in the morning along the Danube and the Black
Sea cast, and haze in basin areas. Sunny during the day in eastern Bulgaria,
with scattered high clouds; high clouds will predominate in western Bulgaria,
wore pronounced in the afternoon. Slight to moderate winds, predominantly south-
east. Maximum temperature, 18-23 degrees.
13 October 1950. Light rain will fall in northern Bulgaria before midnight,
and in scattered places in northern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea during the
day. Moderate winds: northwest in western Bulgaria and northeast in eastern
Bulgaria. Minimum temperature, 6-9 degreea;~maximum, 17-19.
14 October 1950. Considerable cloudiness during the night in northeast Bul-
garia and along the Black Sea; in the rest of the country the cloudiness will
diminish, with clearing and slackening of winds in places in western Bulgaria.
Minimum temperature: in basin areas and in the highlands of western Bulgaria, near
4 degrees below zero; along the Black?Sea, near 4 degrees above zero;?and in the
rest of the country, between 1 below and 2 above zero. Scattered variable clouds
during the day throughout the country, more pronounce3 in the afternoon in north-
east Bulgaria and along the Black Sea, where light rain will fall. locally. Moderate
winds: noi..h in nortiaastern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea, and northwest in
the rest of the country.
15 October'195O. Scattered variable clouds will predominate during the day
over the entire country, more pronounced over the mountainous regions of western
Bulgaria and the Black Sea. Moderate to strong northwest winds. Maximum tempera-
ture, 12-17 degrees.
17 October 1950. Light fog in the morning along the Danube and the Black Sea'
coast and in basin areas. Sunny during the day, with scattered low clouds along
the Black Sea coast. Slight to moderate winds, predominantly east. Maximum temp-
erature, 16-18 degrees.
18 October 1950. Sunny during the day with high scattered clouds coming from
the west, more pronounced in northwest Bulgaria and in the afternoon. Slight,
becoming moderate northwest winds around noon. Maximum temperature, 20-24 degrees.
19 October 195Q. The advance of cool and moist air from the northwest will
continue. Under its infl.ueace, the weather will be cloudy throughout the country.
Light rain will fall during the night in many places in northwest Bulgaria, and
during the day in many places in northern, Bulgaria and locally in western Bulgaria,
Moderate northwest winds. Minimum temperature, 6-10 degrees; maximum, 16-20.
20 October 1950? Moist and comparatively cold air will continue to move into
the country from the northwest. Under its influettce, the 'weather will continue
windy and generally very cloudy, with rainfall in many places, mainly in the north-
east half of the country, and with snow on the high peaks. More pronounced tem-
porary scattering of clouds locally in western Bulgaria around noon. Minimum tem-
perature, 6-10 degrees; maximum, 10-15.
21 October 1950. Clear during the night over most of the country. Minimum
temperature: in basin area, between 3 degrees below. zero and 1 degree above zero;
in the rest of the country, 2-4. Frost will form after midnight in closed basin
areas. Light fog?will form in the morning alottg the Danube and the Black Sea
coast and in basin areas, becoming heavier after sunrise. Sunny during the day, .
with variable, mainly high clouds, more pronounced along the Black Sea coast and,
in thA afternoon, in western Bulgaria, Slight to moderate northwest winds. Maxi- .

basin areas, between 3 degrees below zero and zero. Frost will form after mid=
night in closed. basin areas and in river valleys. Light fog in the morning along
the Danube and. the Black Sea coast and in basin areas, becoming heavier after sun-
rise. Sunny during the day, with thin high clouds coming from the west. Slight
to moderate northwest winds. Maximum temperature, 16-18 degrees.
25 October 1950. The advance of moist air from the southwest will continue.
Under i.ts influence, the weather in western Bulgaria will be cloudy, with light
rain falling locally in the southwest parts of the country. In eastern Bulgaria,
scattered but considerable cloudiness, predominantly medium and high. Slight winds.
Minimum temperature, 4-6 degrees; maximum, 13-17.
26 October 1950. Continued cloudy throughout the country, with rainfall .n
many places, mainly during the night and in the afternoon; snow on the high peaks.
Moderate, (in isolated places, strong), predominantly southeast winds. Minimum
temperature, 4-7 degrees; maximum, 17.-15.
27 October 1950. UndEr the ir~'luence of moist Mediterranean air moving from
the southwest, the weather in almost the entire country will be predominantly
cloudy; rain will fall in many places, mainly in northeast Bulgaria. Predominantly
southwest winds, moderate to strong during the night and slight to moderate during
the dsy. Minimum temperature, 7-12 degrees; maximum, 13-18.
28 October 1950. a small, comparatively cool air mass will enter northwest
Bulgaria during the night, and will bring showers in many places and a slight drop
of temperature. In the rest of the country, the weather will continue warm and
very cloudy, with local showers. Minimum temperature: in places north of the
mountains and in the eastern regions, near 15 degrees; elsewhere, 5-10. Maximum
temperature: in northwest Bulgaria, near 12 degrees; in places north of the.moun-
tains and in eastern Bulgaria, near 23; elsewhere, 15-20.
29 October 1950. Extremely variable cloudiness during the day throughout the
country, more pronounced in eastern Bulgaria in the morning and in western Bul-
garia in the afternoon. Moderate west winds. Minimum temperature: in northwest
Bulgaria, U-3 degrees below zero; in the rest of ,the country, 5-7 degrees above
zero. Maximum temperature: 15-18 degrees. .
31 October 1950. Continued very cloudy throughout the country, with rainfall
in many places. Continued strong, predominantly east winds. Minimum temperature:
along the Black Sea and in many places north of the mountains, near 11 degrees; in
the rest of the country, 4-7. Maximum temperature: in northeast Bulgaria and
along the Danube, 12-11~ degrees; in the rest of the country, 14-18.
1 Yovember 1950. Continues cloudy throughout the country, with rainfall in
many places. Moderate to strong east winds. Minimum temperature, 8-10 degrees;
maximum, 13-15.
2 November 1950. Continued cloudy and cold throughout the country, with
rainfall in many places. Snow fall on the high peaks. Moderate (in northeast
Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast, strong), northeast winds. Maximum
temperature: in northern Bulgaria and the Sofia plain, 4-10 degrees; in the
rest of the country, 10-15.
