P. Sannikov, chief of the chemistry laboratory of the 1'Darasunzoloto"
Combine, proposes that a ceramics plant to utilize the tremendous unused
deposits of refractory clay in Baygul Ravine, Nerchinskiy Rayon, Chita
Oblast, be built. This plant would supply refractarins and ceramics to
the entire metallurgical industry of the. Far East. The high quality of
the clay makes it suitable for the production of refractory brick of all
types, faience blocks, tile, ceramic products for chemistry laboratories,
tableware of all types, etc. The Far East metallurgical industry is now
importing products made of refractory clay and also imports the clay from
the Urald. The Baygul deposits are not being used, although all conditions
necessary for their exploitation are available.

The aal,ltal construction division of the "Soyuzplavik" (fluor spar)
Trust exceeded the 6-month plan in 5 months' time. Construction of a'club-
house for balanguy miners is going full speed. Workers in the trust's
mines are obtaining 1,000 square meters of new housing this year. In June
and July, two 8-apartment houses will be ready for occupancy. Construction
of three 4-apartment houses has begun.
