Sovkho es of the Shyaulyay Trust completed the plan for repair of
harvesting machines on 20 Jtme, All reapers and horse-drawn rakes are
ready for work in the fields, and all threshing machines, horse-powered
driving gears, motors, mobile steam engines and grain cleaners are in
perfect working condition.
In response to the decree of the Council of Ministers USSR and Tel
V(b) regarding harvesting and procurement of agricultural products in
1949, workers and employees of the trust's sovkhozes have pledged to com-
plete the plan for delivery of new crops to the State 2 weeks sooner
than is 1948.

Several months ago, she receives 100 seeds of branched wheat from a
Moscow selection station. I_n mid-April, the seeds were planted both in
a greenhouse and in the field, and the wheat has already attained a height
of 20 centimeters. Kochina's brigade is considerably expanding its assort-
ment of vegetable crops. Cauliflower will be planted this year for the
first time, and early ripening vegetables will be put in.

assortment produced in 1948. The trust's enterprises are being mech-
anired to expand and improve producesion. An automatic machine for produc-
ing four kinds of macaroni products has been installed in the bakery in
Stalinskiy Rayon, Khabarovsk. A machine which produces 20,000 fried cakes
a day has been put into operation in the Khabarovsk Bread Combine. A
machine for making spiced cookies is being inetalled'in one of the Komacanol'sk
bakeries, and en additional cake shop is being organized in Birobidzhan. The
Nikolayevsk Bread Combine is building a special over for baking rolls and
cake products. All of the trust's enterprises are taking measures to improve
sanitary conditions.

FRUIT-PROCESSING PLANTS BUILT IN KIRGIZ SSR -- Sovetskaya Kirgiziya, No 118,

The Ministry of Forestry USSR has decided to build a number of plants
in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast for processing apples, plums, pears, berberriee,
honeysuckle, have, and cherries. The new plants will handle the preparation
of seeds as their basic type of production and the production of fruit juices
for market cbneumption.
One plant is being built at the "Urtak" Forest Preserve it 01,:tyebr'skip Rpyni.
