It is, however, rapidly being rebuilt but without any building plane whatever. There is no sewerage of any type in Maryscht. The small and irregular streets are always muddy and. c:.irty. Very few streets are lighted, and Warszavska, Sylaahecka, Muranowhka Streets have no lighting system at all. The sidewalks on )Hedzohodr?ka Street are in very bad condition, and no sidewalks of any kind are found on the other streets. There is no school. or children's playgraound in M&rymont. The invest- ment plan provided credit for construction of a school on Pttoo'-i Street, but no aotian has been taken. A small ,playground could be formed in what is kaown as Zawaa4zci Park, but there is no report on ory mizing such a play- ground. The lack of transportation facilities for this sectriaa is deplorable. Train navy parts of lla;yaont, it is a several-kilaaetor vaiL to the nearest car-atop. The residents of Maryaont teed a bus line from Jan III Street to Zelazm Brass Plane. On the otl- band. buses headed for the t`_Locin and frod- miemoie sections of Warsaw are empty. Ens the mangenae~at of PIS (Panetowa SammikscJa Samoohodova, State Motor Transportation) any comments, Another greet problem of the Marymcnt residents, and one that should be attended to without further delay, is the lack of wells for supply of fresh water. The dirty Rudawka River water is used for home purposes. Two wells, one sear Maria Ifazimiera Street and another near Jan III Street, would solve the water supply problem for the locality. All these problems were thoroughly discussed at a meeting held by the Marynant's block committee when representatives of the Warsaw's Nat!onal Council, Pity Administration, City Eeterprises, and BOB (Biuro 0dbudovy Stolicy, Office for Reconotruction of Warsaw) attended. n n,cu awn c Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/18: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600230299-6 STAT Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2011/07/18: CIA-RDP80-00809A000600230299-6 Perhaps Mt?ylionta problem: will reac. rho proper authcritiea. fit leant, that' is the hope of the residents of } rymont, "CLEAN M WA''B" IN WARSAW -- Zycie Warszevy, No 84, 26 Mar 49 The Central section of Warsaw, the most densely populated in the city numbering 170,000 inhabitants, is preparing for "cleanup month."
