The food ration for March will be as follows:
The grain ration resatine the was. Coneunere over 12 years old will re-
ceive 500 grans of bread instead of 500 grams of white baked goods for the
coupon formerly a..titling the holder to 3T5 grams of flour or 500 grass of
baked goods. The fat ration remains tbo some, The bread ration to unchangea.
The egg ration for )hildran and teen-agsre will be increased,ao that
children under 6 will receive 14 eggs, and boys and girls from 6 to 20, 10
eggs. Adults will receive eggs an before.
The milt ration mains unchanged. Children under 12 will reoaive 150
grass of curd. Children and teen-agars will receive 150 grata of ohs:ee, but
cheese will not be distributed to adults. Double quantities of Olomouc cottage
cheese silt be sold to thane who want it,
The sugar ration resains unchanged. Candy will be distributed only to
oonsumsrs under 20. Children and teen-"re will receive 100 grams of choco-
late and 100 grass of other candy. Children and tear-agars who apply in Febru-
ary will receive 100 grass of chocolate in March. Children under 12 and preg-
nant wansa will receive 250 grass of fruit juice, as in February.

According to Indmila Jankovoova Minister of Food, on 20 February, the plan
for the crop purchase of wheat in 1948 was not fulfilled, but the plan for rye
was exceeded, and by 15 January 111,000 carloads of bread grains had been pur -
obased by the crop-purchase agencies.

receive almost 2 kilograns3 of butter In consequence of Russian shipments.

Seven carloads of sugar for Bulgarian children, were collected by youth of
the Czechoslovak Red Cross during their drive, which ended a month ago. The
sugar will be sent within a few days. Dcnatlone were made by schools of all
levels, by factories, and by individuals frrrm all pelts of Czechoslovakia.

According 1,3 a report of the statistical office in Bratislava, the popu-
lation of Slovakia was 3,1445,881 at the beginning of 1948, and 3,470,619 at the
end of 1948. This represents a population increcse of 24,738 for the year.
