Numbers on the sketch are identified with the corresponding numbers listed below. 1) Railroad Station - there are about 15 railroad tracks between the station and the Begej River. 2) Large number of brick warehouses about one cr two blocks southeast of the railroad station (No.1). 3) Bridge over the Begej River. This is known as the "Small Bridge". It is about 40 meters long and two lanes wide, steel ?.ipperstructure and paved deck. I cannot estimate its height above the water level but I do know river vessels laver their smoke stacks when they pass below it. This bridge is about a 20 minute walk frow the railroad station. It is used by pedestrians and motor vehicles. 4) This bridge is exactly the same construction as the bridge described in no. 3. It is about 45 meters long. 5) Railroad bridge across the Begej River. It has a single track. During the German occupation it was called Adolph Hitler Platz. 9) City Hall - two floors brick and atone construction. 10 & 11) This is one of the tow's principal streets ~n the north side of the river. It is two lanes wide and has paved sidewalks on both sides of the street. This street is paved with very smooth yellow cobblestones. This is the town's largest church. 16) Lutheran Church. 17) Greek Orthodox Church. 18) Pest Office, Telephone and Telegraph building, Brick construction, two floors. It is located about ton minuts's walk iron the public square (No 8). 19) & 20) This is the town's principal north and south street. It took me about 25 minutes tL walk from No 19 to No 20. It is three lanes wide and I think it is paved with concrete or asphalt on top of cobblestones. 21) Technical trade school. A large two-floor building of brick construction covered with plaster painted white. The building has a "II" shape. It is about a ten minute walk east of the railroad station (No 1). 22) Gymnasium. 23) Large convent. 24) Thermal electric power Station Which I bel?eve was built iii the 1930's. It is located about a ten minute walk from the railroad station (No 1). 25) Railroad freight station. 26) Military airport. It is located a?)out five ninutes by train or a one hour walk from the railroad station (No 1). 27) CathuLic Cemetery. 28) Narrow gauge railroad station. 2.
