The following import and export agencies were'a part of the -ulrarian Ministry of Foreign Trade: (a) Import A cncies: (1) Metalimport was responsible for importing all types of I::achinery and metal products. Prior to a few months alto textile needles and textile machinery spare parts were handled by Industrialimport. Subsequently these items too, were handled by Netalimport, the most important of the import agencies. (2) Chimimport was responsible for chemicals, industrial dyes, medical equipment, and medicines. (3) Industrialimport handled imports of all industrial raw materials including cellulose fiber, paper, rubber products, glass, and tires.
