1. An active exchange of opinions has been taking place in the last few days between
the Soviet High Comission and the "National Front." Negotiators for th' Soviet
Zone side are Prof. Dr. W. Froedricb and Prof - Correr.:, ;)f the National Front, and
Hans Seigewasser of the SED (Socialist Unity Party), Basis of discussion In bette_
relations in bourgeois circles of the DDR (Peoplels Republic) and Federal Repuba,-
as an apparatus of the SED, (SIC).
2. On 4 Feb 54, Walter U1bbiaht conferred with Hans Seigewasser over the importance
of o strong leadership of the National Front in the SED sense. Seigewasser Is a
SED official placed in the National Front.
3. Prof. Eugen S. Varga, the formerly influenti:+l :.oviet economic theoretician
(Fungarian born) has drawn up, at Molotov's request, a memorandums on "Possible
Methodology of Economic. Negotiations with Captic.li5t Statcstl in connection with
the Four Power conference.
