1. ?reduction of fiele glasses by the Karl 1:e1es works, Jena, was approximately
the same in Gctober,1953 as in Septer.er.
2. .;e1 order from the .ioviet Ualon, received early in October, for the Ram-
facture of 400 telescueic sights for 76.2 mm. guns already has beencompleted.
3. Telephoto lenses with a focel length of 100 cm are manufactured for the soviet
Union.
4.. Other new orders cannot be taken care of in the next six months, because foreign
orders at present overfill the production cupacity. Export production of
microscopes has increased especially, chiefly of interference microscopes which
make it possible accurately to detect superficial imperfections. These
microscopes arc mainly destined for the Soviet Union. Polariscopes are also
delivered to the eoviet Union. as well as to other countries.
5. Work in proceeding on an order.from the Soviet Unionihr 1,250 special intermediate
frequency tubes for ultra-violet microscopes. the cameras
are being delivered by Zeiss Ikon, of Dresden.
6. A new type of lens for microphotography is being made which cloaely resembles
the achromaticmd apochromatic objectives, but differ in having an almost flat
field of view.
7. Thirty-eight Image conv.rtera were manufactured in NoNember 1953.
