Modernization
The Tank Works iro. 183 was modernized iii 191:8-1950. The tank assembly ie now carried
out on an assembly amine system. In 1952 the Works had 182 such assembly lines in
operation.
"The ce~sting of parts has been mechanized by the use of permanent forms. Up to 90
per cent of the details and parts are now stamped (pressed, cut?) with powerful
'stamping' hammers. The parts are 100 per cent welded by means of electrical welcing
'automatons' of the 'Professor E.0 'aton type'.
3. "Since 11948 the time necessary for building an average tank has been cut by 50 per cent
through the above improvements. The cost has also been halved.

furnaces.
