IMAGERY INFORMATION REPORT
PIE DISH ELINT COLLECTOR IN BULGARIA (S)
(TSR) PIE DISH electronics intelligence (ELINT) collection equipment has been
identified at Topolovgrad Electronics Countermeasure (ECM) Facility, Bulgaria, on pho-
tography o (Figure 1). This represents the first identification of the PIE DISH
in Bulgaria and only the second identification of this equipment outside the Soviet Union.
(S/WNINTEL) THE PIE DISH appeared to be operational and was oriented south-
east toward the Bulgaria-Turkey border. Additional ELINT equipment observed included
a BIG EAR oriented southeast, a BAR BRICK oriented southwest, a CRAB POT with
orientation undetermined, and two dome structures.
(S/WNINTEL) Construction at the facility was extensive and included the building of
hardened radar and personnel shelters, open radar sites and mounds, and support facili-
ties.
