France: The armed forces minister has announced
that a thi d group of nine IRBMs will be installed
in southern France. When these missiles are opera-
tional, France will have a total of 27 IRBMs. The
minister also stated that thermonuclear warheads will
eventually be installed on. all these missiles.
Chile: Following disturbances in Santiago, the
Allende government has put Santiago Province on mar-
tial law alert. At least two persons were killed
and four wounded in fighting on Friday between rival
political organizations.
Burma-Thailand: The communique issued at the
conclusion of Burmese Prime Minister Ne Win's trip
to Bankgok announced that Burmese rebel leader U Nu
will soon be leaving Thailand. Bangkok claims that
U Nu, who has used Thailand for over two years as a
h;A;Qlm (n) onnrations against the Ne Win government
us
preparing to take up residence in India.
