generate into a series of coups and countercoups.

India - North Vietnam: External Affairs Min-
ister Dinesh Singh has told a parliamentary commit-
tee that India would not raise the level of its
representation in North Vietnam immediately but
would do sa when the "situation was ripe,"
Meanwhile,
India will try to increase coopera ion e ween the
two countries. Singh reiterated his argument that
closer relations with Hanoi would be in India's best
interests and would help reduce Chinese influence
there,
