Turk- ish officials are concerned that all these Greek forces may not be withdrawn. by 18 January as agreed be- tween the two countries last month. Noting that none have been taken off the island since 20 December, Ankara has warned that emotions would again flare up if the Turkish people become aware that the evacua- tion is not proceeding.
