REQUESTED BY! OCI
PURPOSE Paper for Rep, Mahon
DCI today requested that a paper on Indonesia be
furnished him "not on a crash basis but in reaso-
nably good time" for Congressman hon, D/.Tex.0 who
has exhibited considerable interest in the subject.
Helms wants the August NSC Briefing, paper and
the July briefing for Vice President Hiuwphrey
updated and combined, together with whatever
statistics ORR has that are pertinent. Mahon
is specifically interested in Indonesia's cotton
requirements and purchases abroad. OCI also speci-
fied figures on the status of Indonesian transpor=
Cation capabilities, Paper should also certainly
show the status of U. S. business interests in
Indonesia.
I also infereed that if the paper can be
OCI_ rocossed Monday at latest and given to DCI
cob Monday or oob Tues 16 Aug this will meet his
