3. Student and other civilian groups show signs of
continuing their program of public action. KAPPI, the high
school student action command, in welcoming Suharto's
assumption of authority, noted that its own actions would be
"heightened." On 14 March, students staged an impressive
parade to honor students killed throughout Java in recent

demonstrations. Suharto has been requested to reinstate
the university student action command (KAMI), banned by
Sukarno in late February, and to reopen the University of
Indonesia which Sukarno had closed.
4. A mass rally, presumably to express support of
Suharto, is scheduled for 15 March.
