The sources of information have been limited to the Industrial Register
of CIA and the tiles of the Shipbuilding Branch of the Industrial Divition of R.
The total yard area and the total area of buildings have been eetimated
free aerial photograPhs and/or sketches or other descriptive information. The
graPhios in which these estimates have been based are contained herein in the
city folder of the area.
For the pa:Topes of this report the total area of buildings includes:
(a) The horizontal projected roof area of shop buildings believed to
be engaged in productive works the nnmber of floors being disregards&
(b) The area of longitudinal building ways, marine railways, and
graving docks plus an allowance for working space along each side equal to one
half of the width of the way, dock or railweyb and a specs of 30 feet at the
heed of the wen dock or railway.
(c) The area of transverse building ways and the building section of
patent elipegya.
(0 The area of welding or useably pletans.-
(e) The area of floating drydocke is not included because of
their nonpermanent status.
The nueher, type, and size of building ws, drydocks and marine rail,.
ways have been estimated from the most recent information available.

be noted that the reported number of empaoyees in some instances includes the
total number employed on three shifts, and in other instances
