1. The 7th regular meeting of the Subcommittee for Guidance
to Collectors was held on 10 December 1957.
2. The Minutes of the preceding meeting were reviewed and..
approved.
3. The compilation of collection requirements and guidance
relating to sub-launched missiles was reviewed and with some minor
reorganization, was approved for reporting to GMIG, A draft of
the over-all report regarding sub-launched collection requirements
received preliminary review and will be put into final draft form
by Mr. Martin, Navy, for final consideration by the Subcommittee
for Guidance to dGollectors early next week.
4. The Navy member proposed. that the Air Force collection
guide for its priority requirements for Information {Pi~..Ij #8 on
sub-launched missile characteristics, be used as a basis for

preparation of a guide for the use- of all agencies interested in
the problem. It was further noted that this guide can usefully
be up-dated and corrected; the Navy and 'CLA, members indicated
an interest in undertaking this with the- Collection t~perations Branch
(yC7N-lA.~ on a unilateral basis. The Chairman agreed to make the
necessary arrangements on the .fir Force side.
5. The Chairman proposed that in view of the fact that the
aGC was organized far a tentative period of six months, that the
review of collecta;~on guidance should properly be expedited. It was
suggested that a way of doing this would be for each Agency to
assemble all of its collection requirements and guidance regarding
guided missiles and that the SG9C in a series of sessions, review
and prepare a summary report as to its adequacy,, Having completed
this, the SGG might then focus its attention on trouble spots as the
situation indicates or as may be directed by GMIC. The proposal
was tentatively agreed to as a course of action with the reservation
that the SGC should first complete the review of the sub-launched
missile problem.
6. The- next regular meeting of the f;GC is scheduled for
the 20th of December at 1300 hours in Room 1.42, Dentagon Annex ~#3.
