This memorandum transmits for incorporation into The Allen W.. Dulles Papers now held for CIA by the Executive Registry, tree additional boxes of Dulles materials. These materials were part of a larger lot submitted to the Agency. by the representative of Mrs. Dulles' estate, Mr. F. Garner Ranney, between 2 July and 7 August 1974, on the occasion of the vacating of the Dulles residence in Georgetown, for screening to determine which papers could be released to the Dulles Collection at Princeton University. 2. For the record it is now noted that the CIA History Staff, by arrangement: with Mr. Ranney and Mr. Alexander P. Clark, Curator of Manuscripts at the Princeton University Library, has transmitted the remainder of the papers to Princeton for incorporation into the main Allen W. Dulles collection at that institution. The content: of this terminal batch of papers, the general character of which is given below, is listed in Annex A: a. Personal correspondence with individuals and unofficial organizations. c. Papers declassified during the present review, such as those relating to the briefing of the candidates in the 1961 presidential election. 3. These documents are inventoried in Annex B. The History Staff is turning over to the Historical Intelligence Collection (HIC) for preservation a personal collection of medals, awards, and related items accumulated by Mr. Dulles during the course of his career in intelligence. 4. The History Staff has arranged to remand to the organizations concerned, certain unclassified but privileged documents relating to the private and business organizations, such as a file of papers relating to a contractual relation- ship between Mr. Dulles and Rockwell International (formerly North American Aviation), after his retirement from government service. For this reason it appears to be more appropriate to arrange for transmittal of the material to Rockwell International ::s a successor company. 4.
