DEVELOPMENTS IN INDOCHINA
(Information as of 1500)
CAMBODIA
Government operations against Communist units
in the Phnom Penh area are not going well.
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
Infiltration from North Vietnam which began
last month is continuing. A large portion of
the newly detected groups are heading for the
central highlands of South Vietnam.
SOUTH VIETNAM
President Thieu may be considering new ways
to stifle press opposition.
NORTH VIETNAM
Hanoi is pressuring the Soviets to speed up
POL deliveries, perhaps to sustain the logis-
tics effort now under way.
LAOS
Chances are slim that a special session of
the National Assembly will be held to interpel-
late the government on recent economic measures.
The Lao cabinet has recommended that the King
refuse to call the assembly into session and
Souvanna has dismissed the whole affair.
