The Defense Documentation Center is attempting to learn more about the desirability and the feasibility of providing duplicate copies of its tapes to regular users of DDC o These tapes include the entire bibliographic text that appears in the Technical Abstract Bulletin (TAB). DDC is especially anxious to get opinions from its users and, ideally, to have decentralized testing of he tapes with live request traffic. The DDC offer to make tapes available has been mentioned at COSATI (see minutes of January 1966) and also more widely announced through the DEC News Letter for January 19660 2. There w1t2 be a meeting to discuss this matter 19 May in the Defense Supply Agency auditorium at Cameron Station, Alexandria. CIA has been informally invited to attend. Presence at the meeting is in no sense a com- mitment to participate further in this experiment. 3. Components of CIA that are interested in attending this meeting or in being represented at the meeting should contact the undersigned on extension 4.
