Attached is the DOD November reconnaissance schedule which will be subject to approval by the Special Group at its meeting on 31 October~ecommendthat you approve ethishave Intereste agency reviewed this document and schedule at the Special Group meeting. 2. The agency is particularly interested in the following: a. The COMINT/ELINT missions in the Soviet Arctic area I land I I_ 25X1 D t see blue sheets at Tab A) which are needed in supp hase II 25X1 D of Agency requirements relating tol which bears on TALL KING Arctic tactics. b. The ELINT coverage of SAM sites in the 25X1 D vicinity of Djakarta, Indonesia, by the Photo and ELINT missions. See the yellow see s a Tab B. This coverage is particularly needed at this time for background in planning current clandestine agency COMINT/ELINT and Photo coverage of live SAM firings in Indonesia. No transmissions have yet been intercepted from Indonesian SAM sites. 3. The product of these operations is utilized and endorsed by USAFE/EUCOM in ELINT order-of-battle production. b. In para 14 (see Tab D) it is noted that there are intercepts of ChiCom jet fighters at altitudes in excess of 60, 000 feet on 20 occasions. Our records show over 67 occasions. c. That the number of S-band FAN SONG SAM sites in Cuba as listed in para 17 (see Tab E) is not complete. The current S-band sites include La Salud and Majana, as well as those listed in the JRC book. Unconfirmed direction-finding indicates possibly six additional SAM sites are equipped with S-band FAN SONG. If these six suspense sites are confirmed, there will be a total of 12 S-band sites and 12 C-band sites in Cuba. 25X1A ALBERT D.
