I am forwarding as an enclosure a recent DIA assessment of "Warsaw
Pact Capabilities in Central Europe After the Czech Crisis", in the
hope that it will be of use to your office in any future studies of
Soviet capabilities in Central Europe.
You will note that the analysis in our paper differs in several
respects from the conclusions presented in your recent Intelligence
Memorandum I would stress, therefore, that the
enclosure represents an informal DIA assessment at the analyst level,
and does not ref ect an official DIA viewpoint
