The Kennedy magnetic tape transport, Model 3110 Series, was delivered to on 12 January 1970. The tape 25X1 transport has been fitted with an interface which acts as a control and transfer medium between the Honeywell DDP-416 computer and the transport. 2. The ASR-33 Teletype wrote 200 words (16 bits each) into disc memory of the IlRP-416 whereupon they were then transferred onto magnetic tape. The words were then played back through the disc to the teletype. The next important step will be,to transfer these words from tape:;onto the video and back again to tape. 3. I Iwho was responsible for the software for the 25X1 DDP-416 computer, has resigned from completed 25X1 writing of this software, now being tested, and it is reported that he will be available as a consultant should the need arise for his services. 4. A linear encoder for the high speed IDT has been received by from the Division of The encoder, which will 25X11 measure the x-displacement of the scan table with respect to the optical system, is currently being installed on the IDT. Performance tests of this device will commence in the near future. 5. The contractor reports that the entire system will meet the 1 June 1970 delivery date scheduled for the off-line system.
