on this NPIC project was presented by the head of
the Human Factors Section in the Technical Services Group, NPIC. A
brief resume of his briefing is attached. It was generally assessed
by the members that the project had very useful applications for train-
ing of PI and PG within the community. The services of
are available to the community for consultation in this area.

DIA be allowed more observers to attend the EXRAND meetings.

It was pointed out to him that such a request might expand EXRAND
membership into too large a body and that it was up to the present
members to see that information was disseminated to all interested
and affected organizations represented within the body of EXRAND.
It was pointed out that for special presentations and discussions
coming up in EXRAND that the DIA representative could bring along
back-up expertise whenever the occasion demanded. The membership
agreed that the official representation should not be increased by
addition of another DIA observer. It was pointed out that all
attendees should have the proper clearances before attending a meet-
ing. One suggestion was made that the security level be included
in the agenda which is circulated before the meeting.

d. The Chairman requested that EXRAND meeting dates be changed
in August and September. After some discussion it was decided that
the meeting dates would be 25 August and 29 September. Attachment 2
lists the remaining special briefings and trips for the calendar year
through October.

(1) The Avionics Lab has a contract with which has
developed an electronic beam recording system whichprovides
hard copy direct from the electronic translated image provided
in real time.
(2) has developed a densitometer which
provides for density wedge readout instantaneously. This device
will greatly speed up the sampling of densitometer work.
4. Old Business.

image enhancement/manipulation projects. This very useful collection
of project information is attached.

ing 10,000 feet It is emphasized that this
has not been approved for the mission but rather is preparatory for

application to the fourth bucket provided that this type of mission is
approved. A discussion ensued on evaluation and use of color with inputs

several comments on the processing aspect.

the Chairman of COMIREX and further assigned the Chairman of the Technical
Task Team with the responsibility for collecting the required information.

e. The Executive Secretary reported on the latest status of special
briefings and trips by EXRAND. The Air Force representative was request-
ed to obtain permission for the trip to RADC which would include the
briefing on the new system rectifier development, will report 25X1
whether the schedule for a trip to Eastman Kodak Company would be feasible
for the EXRAND subcommittee.

trip to the West Coast for those EXRAND members involved.
