Many last minute hardware changes have been made, particularly related to the interferometers, the counting logic, and the inclusion of the interface for the diagnostic computer program. The individual elements of the optical system have been tested earlier and no difficulty is anticipated with this phase of the hardware. The existing schedule requires that Part I of the Acceptance Test begin on November 16 and be completed by November 25. In order to continue the computer programming work for Part II of the Acceptance Test (to be performed in December, 1970), the Part I testing will be conducted on the afternoon shift and on the weekend. 1 STAT Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 J Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 31 October 1970 The actual time required to perform the tests, assuming there are no operating problems, is relatively short. Thus, it is expected that the 10 day period avail- able for testing should be quite ample. The technical monitor visited arly in October STAT for the purpose of conducting a routine review of the pro- gram status at this time. The Stereocomparator is presently on schedule. ? 2 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 -A Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 31 October 1970 STEREOCOMPARATOR Task 2 SCHEDULING AND PLANNING Scheduled Percentage of Completion 100% Actual Percentage This Date 100% In the September, 1970 report, completion for fl the in-plant Acceptance Test was scheduled for 77 January 15, 1971. The period from the commencement date of December 11, 1970 to January 15, 1971 was exceptionally long because of the holiday season with the attendant general work disruptions anticipated during such periods. ? For this reason, an "earliest possible" schedule revision is suggested, which, if all goes well, will allow the prformance of Part I of the Acceptance Test between ? November 16 and November 25. Since this work must be Li done on a non-interfering basis with the other activities 17, .L0 incidental to the completion of the Stereocomparator hard- 7 ware, it will be necessary to perform the tests after 'Lz 7:00 p.m. during the week, and all day on Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22. fl T2-1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 P Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 4=; 31 October 1970 Since there is no contingency built into a schedule of this sort, it is not possible to form a fixed schedule, but instead, the interested parties will be kept informed as to the progress of the work during the first half of November. Assuming that the Part I Acceptance Test is per- formed according to schedule, the Part II Acceptance Test procedure will take place in the period December 14 to December 18, 1970. If the in-plant Acceptance Test buy-off is as scheduled, it will then be possible to disassemble and ship the Stereocomparator so as to arrive at the final site Immediately after the New Year's holiday. This would improve the October 5 schedule by more than one month. The completion date of the final Acceptance Test might thus be April 2 rather than May 7. 4 T2-2 t= Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/08/29: CIA-RDP79B00873A001300010009-1 Ui 31 October 1970 STEREOCOMPARATOR Task 22 INTERFEROMETER ASSEMBLY Scheduled percentage of completion 100% Actual percentage this date 77% Assembly of parts for the new interferometer began the week of 26 October. The report is prepared according to specification TD1001 (as modified). 1. During September work on the final integration con- tinued. The non-realtime portion of the program was demonstrably completed. The background portion of the program was also integrated and demonstrated, as far as can be without real camera data. It was also demonstrated that the subprogram RECALL can successfully drive the stages. All subroutines and drivers for the Stereocomparator have been coded and unit tested at this time. 2. During October Informatics' personnel will continue final integration as long as the Stereocomparator hardware remains available. During this time the foreground portion of the program will be integrated and demonstrated.
