It is gratifying to hear that the field evaluation report indicates that the Um performed very satisfactorily and thet no difficulties were encountered during its use. 2. Relative to the Training Drench's problems in using this item, these deficiencies have been brought to the attention of the contractor. The set screws will be fixed in positice with varnish or some other suitable meterial. The fabrication of the additional items have progressed to ? stage Whereby the chucks can not be redesigned without considerable time and expenditure. The contractor plans to place on the chuck some type of earning as to the tightening of the aback. It is felt, however, that the persona using this item should be swore that excessive tightening of the chuck will cause it to freese. 3. The estimated delivery date of the 50 subject devices is 15 October 1955. In regard to modification or development of a similar item to cover 8e x11" mom such a device can he developed. Relative to your statements that because of increased belg4t there would be laproper expoeure, this maybe overcome by including a power packed light source. Other methods of covering larger format areas would, be the use of a panoramic camera or a supplementary ansmorphic lens. We are at present investigating the possibilities of the ansmorphic lens for such work.
