The persons respon- sible are not known, but police assumed the arsonists were mem- bers of a radical youth group intent on marking the anniver- sary of Allende's overthrow. w 50X1-HUM Date: 28 September 1976 U.S. Businessman Kidnapped in Colombia Place: Colombia Gustavo Curtis, the American manager of the U.S.-owned Beatrice Foods Company sub- sidiary in Colombia, was kidnapped in :Bogota by un- known persons. Curtis and his chauffeur were both abducted after their car was rammed on a Bogota street. The driver was rele"ed shortly afterward.
