1. The responsibilities of the Map Library are the development

materials; an atlas and gazetteer collection; and a supporting collection
of geogMhic working volumes for use in procurement and processing
activities, The Reference collection is the largest and most complete
collection of special subject maps for intelligence purposes in existence.

While the numbers procured vary from year to year, depending on-
