SUBJECT : Possible Compromise of Classified Document
(CIA Report RR ER-5, Soviet Geodetic and
Photogrammetric Instrumentation
REFERENCE Memorandum dated 3 January 1955 from Chief,
Projects Control Staff
1. We appreciate your bringing to our attention the fact
that G-2 presumes subject document has been compromised, in
view of the fact that a copy of it was thrown into the sea
on 28 October 1954 when a MATS plane was forced to lighten its
load.
2. We have alerted the interested DD/P components of this
incident to afford them an opportunity to note on their records
this presumed compromise and to take whatever actiQn they should
deem necessary.
3, We are returning for your files the copy of subject
publication which you transmitted with your memorandum.
