2. Conferred with Messrs. Sheldon and Kent respecting t, joint
OCI/ONE roundup on the Middle East.
25X1A9a 3. phoned and indicated that the President desired to
have Admiral Dennison stay with him until the end of his term. I indicated
that this was perfectly satisfactory with us and that we would be prepared to
talk with her in December. I had already cleared with the 25X1 25~C1A9a
25X1 A9a possibility that would assist her. also indicated that 5
25X1A9a a friend of her ' s, one desired to come to CIA and I said that I
would see her on Thursday between 5 and 6. This girl may be the secretary for
whom Huntington Sheldon is looking and I have mentioned her to him.

5. Dr. Chadwell reported to me on a most satisfactory first meeting
of the SEC. He mentioned some reluctance on the part of one of the Military
members to set up a medical working subcommittee and I indicated that this
question had already been squarely settled by the ad hoc Committee itself.

7. Phoned Colonel Zierath and informed him that I fully agree with
his total revision of the PSB minute on social science research. I informed
him that I would not approve any minute of this character which did not at
least go as far as his redraft.
8. Discussed with General Samford and Mr. Hoover certain amend-
ments to the summary evaluation paper resulting from the meeting with the
NSC Steering Group. It was agreed that Mr. Hoover would have the paper
redrafted and would deliver copy to General Samford, who would call together
a meeting of the Senior Group, before the paper is finally delivered to
General Smith. In the meantime, I shall revise the transmittal letter.
9. Mr. Pforzheimer phoned on a matter relating to the Davies
case and I referred him to Mr. Wisner.
