1. Notified DCI that was prepared to brief him
on his talk with General Eisenhower and will get in touch with 25X1A9a

2. Informed DCI that would like to chat with hire and
25X1A9ahe instructed to see if an appointment could be made.
3. Informed DCI of our offer to brief Undersecretary Foster and
4. Informed Mr. Whearty of ICIS why it had been necessary to
send forward the summary evaluation paper and suggested that any further
amendments be sent to the NSC Secretariat. He inquired what pressure we had
received and I indicated that the request for the paper had come from Mr.
Lovett's office.
5. DCI indicated a desire to speak with General Shortt either
before or after the IAC meeting on Thursday.
6. Phoned Park Armstrong and informed him that I had, yesterday,
approved in principle the consolidation of biographical services on
political personalities in State, CIA to assist State in return for
specialized services to be furnished CIA. I explained that this was approved
in principle, and that there were many practical details to work out. Mr.
Armstrong expressed his appreciation of this advance notice, which he felt
would improve the morale of his staff and would also make for mutual
confidence. I, of course, pointed out to Mr. Armstrong that this did not
apply to economic and scientific personalities, which would continue to be
exploited by CIA's O/CD. ---
7. Mr. Wisner raised the question of whether he should have some
of his staff assistants stand by for the Thursday dinner, so as to brief
25X1A2gus on but I felt that this would be unnecessary since we
planned only to discuss general principles on the question of high-level
economic and financial intelligence. could be taken up 25X1 A2g
at the Friday meeting of PRC.

8. Requested to provide nie with some materials on
the elementary study of Russian. I later received from him some records,
but informed his office that I was primarily interested in securing
