1. At the Director's morning meeting, Wisner and Dulles raised
for discussion the inadequacy of our actions to combat Communism in
darkest Africa. D/CI indicated the desirability of having a Special
Estimate within a reasonable time to cover the situation there with
particular reference to Cormnun:ist infiltration of native movements
such as the Mau-Mau. After the meeting, I asked to survey what 25X1 A9a
we had concerning Africa and that more was needed to complete an in-
telligence picture on the Continent. 25X1A8a

2. After the meeting, talked briefly with Wisner and re-

garding the handling of DD/I personnel,now manning M25X1A8a
