1. SIGNIFICANCE:
THIS BRIEFING BOARD DEPICTS A NEWLY IDENTIFIED FIELD DEPLOYED SA-2
SAM SITE NEAR VINH, THE ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOURTH SITE TO BE IDENTIFIED
IN NORTH VIETNAM.
2. LOCATION:
THIS SITE IS LOCATED 22.5 NM NORTHWEST OF VINH AT UTM WF333798.
3. REMARKS:
OF THE ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOUR SA-2 SAM SITES OBSERVED IN NORTH
VIETNAM SINCE APRIL 1965, ELEVEN HAVE BEEN NEGATED, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUM-
BER OF KNOWN USABLE SITES TO ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE.
4. MISSION READOUT:
SIST OF FOUR OCCUPIED UNREVETTED LAUNCH POSITIONS, ONE UNOCCUPIED UNREVETTED
POSSIBLE LAUNCH POSITION, AND AN UNREVETTED CAMOUFLAGED CENTRAL GUIDANCE
AREA WHICH CONTAINS A FAN SONG RADAR, TWO VANS, AND TWO POSSIBLE VANS. ONE
SET OF BOGIE WHEELS AND ONE UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLE ARE ALSO NOTED IN THE AREA.
NO MISSILE HOLD POSITIONS ARE OBSERVED.
